The Croma Cabrio ,without the engine, was delivered to a specialist in coachworks.
In the meantime, I bought a normal Croma ie , To recover as many parts, especially body, as on my convertible everything was very worn.
Here is a photo of Croma i.e. completely "cleaned "....

The engine had a very bad condition. In the Czech Republic are also many such engines. Croma is the very cheap car, but Czech man is accustomed to low prices in times of parts Skoda Felicia and Skoda Favorit. Therefore, service on the Croma looks too expensive.

New white body looked very well preserved (white classic Croma liftback on photo). What part was to be used for the Cabrio?

Coachwork and paintwork looks amazing. Car looks like it left the factory.

Headlights are new? The original? (probably useless question to someone from Turin, right?) or renovated?

Living in Turin, Fiat's operations center, it's possible find original parts for the Old Croma.
Unfortunately, the philosophy of FIAT, leads to erase the past, so many parts in stock at FIAT RICAMBI are destroyed , to make room for the new Chrysler parts ....
All are new headlights, Valeo Forelegs and hindlegs are made from Altissimo company .
Now you will see the installation of the new engine.

Now that the Croma Convertible was painted, was taken to a mechanic to mount the new engine.
The engine was purchased as Fiat spare part, the gear box has been taken from the Croma ie "Donor".
Shock absorbers, brakes, and many components are new.

It is sad to read that FIAT destroys parts. People in Italy have the opportunity to buy these parts before destruction? Or parts are being destroyed in secret?

These parts are expensive for the Italian people? It's the same like the original sale of parts for old Czech car?

Progress on the car is great. The new engine is amazing. It's easy to find and buy a whole new engine?

I do not understand a word forelegs and hindlegs. What does it mean please?

Sorry for the constant questions on parts and their availability. I want to create a comparison of Italy and Italian cars with Czech Republic and Czech cars. I regret that in the Czech Republic does not buy many parts, and the same parts are destroyed in Italy.

"forelegs and hindlegs" , I have said that rear lights are new, made from "Altissimo" company.
About the engine it's not easy to find.
I have bought it from SORA Company, in Faenza city.
They ask me 1200 Euro for this engine, and after a little minute I have said " Yes, we can !"
In Italy, there are many Car demolition company , that sell used car parts.
Normally, the price of an used part is 50% than a new one.
There is the possibility of transporting a car from these companies, dismantle them completely, and bring all the parts (except the chassis).
The cost of demolition of a Croma is about 250 Euro.

In the Czech Republic have similar companies. Also sell parts. often it is an inexpensive way to get parts. but is cheaper if you find a private person who has Croma dismantled for parts. (for example here in the club) I have also several cars for parts.

My strategy is to buy a Croma, and bring in the demolition center.
With 200 euros, the demolition man dismantling the entire car, and give me all the parts.
Now I bought a Turbo i.e. MK1 (January 1986), frame 00000008900 and I follow the same procedure.
The total cost of this operation (purchase + demolition), will be 600 Euro.
Fortunately, I have enough space to store all the parts ...

Update as of today: The Convertible is out of my box and go to a specialist in car roof construction.
It 'was an opportunity to check the "vital functions", and I must say that, apart from a series of glitches and electrical components (in part caused by the undersigned on installation), the result is positive overall.
The first test was about 40 km by road.
Here are two photos of the convertible at the time of the departure from my house.

This is fantastic work. Congratulations. You are very fast. When the roof is finished, the cabrio will be completed?

Rear Window (small triangle in the back door) are ready? It is glass with a protective film? Or what is it? This glass is different from standard Croma?

The color of the car is beautiful, leather chair looks perfect.

Hello Simmy,when the canvas roof will be ready , I have many details to be verified. The Croma Cabrio can already be used on the road, then, is not a problem for me if there are small things to tweak.
Surely, the Convertible has to return by an electrician, and polishing of all painted surfaces.
The rear triangles, are not glass made, but polycarbonate ( now with a film protection), because it is a lighter material.
These triangles are removed when the car has open roof.

I am impressed. I really like it. It will be excellent for polishing painted parts.

I had in mind polycarbonate, when I talked about the protective film, but I made a mistake in the translator. So I was interested in the triangular window.
