This is my Croma V6.
It is used by me all the working days and weekends.
It 'been customized aesthetics, with the use of chrome parts from Lancia Thema.
Always a Thema 3.0 V6 has been taken the engine, gearbox and transmission, and mounted directly on my Croma.
The 3.0 V6 engine has been fitted with special camshafts, and after a dyno test has reached 187 HP.

The Croma gives me great satisfaction.
And for now I will not make other changes.
But I bought a book about tuning the Alfa Romeo V6.
And 'possible to improve the performance of this engine, without having reliability problems.
Surely, the end point may be to mount a V6 24V Alfa 164 QV.
With 232 HP, 17 HP more than the Thema 8.32, but with greater reliability and ease of use and maintenance.
But the Croma could have serious stability problems ....

I had the right idea, it is not the final modification :) 8-)
AR V6 (busso) has great potential, it is true and it is the right way of a compromise between performance, price and reliability (and sound too, but Ferrari V8 is Ferrari V8 :D)
It is true that the Croma has not been built on these performances, but on the other side, the Croma have with independent rear suspension above-average driving properties.
It is unfortunate, that my 2.5 TD is not sport instrument, when me the engine cost so much effort :) but it is my great passion
I have some ideas to get Croma 2.0 16v and rebuild it to 16vt Croma, when i see what this engine can for example in the Delta Integrale, but these are just ideas.

A friend of mine bought me a book about tuning (but not extreme) for the Alfa V6 engine, and it is very interesting, because without exaggeration, without turbo, volumex, or other devices, you can increase power up to 260 HP effective, without compromising reliability.
Obviously, the sound of the Thema 8.32 Ferrari is unique, but it is an engine that has required frequent and expensive maintenance.
And now there's a big difficulty in finding replacement parts.
And in any case the performance does not like to the Alfa V6 QV 24 V.
Very good your idea of a turbocharged 16-valve 4-cylinder engine.
In Italy there are those who have made a work ,like your idea.
In addition, Delta evolution engine was installed on Thema 16V turbo Lancia Kappa , new Delta ,Fiat Coupe.
I have a 3 ° Thema LX Turbo 16V, performs very well, but daily I prefer to use the V6 Alfa engine, much more usable, especially at a quiet drive ....

Increasing the power, has been increased active safety of the Croma.
Brembo Max brake discs have been installed , to get more braking power, and KYB gas shocks .
Coming soon will be installed in the engine compartment steel bar, similar to that of the Lancia Delta Integrale.
At the rear, will be made a stabilizer bar , like another one ,installed on another my Fiat Croma "special" ...

Exactly as you say, maintenance costs Ferrari engine are enormous.
2.0 16vt engine is also popular with us. Precisely because of its widespread use in many models. With the easy availability of the parts, performance parts and proved tuning practices. The basis of my idea is 16v Croma, because I spared the trouble with the authorities and the police.

For active safety I bought BILSTEIN shock absorbers, Brembo brake discs and EBC brake pads, but Croma still do not drive, so I have to wait for the outcome.
you have a chassis serial height? or have lower spring? I see standard height, right?
and rear stabilizer you added a completely new? or have you changed the stronger stabilizer for serial? because I have in my 1996 Croma rear stabilizer from factory.

You have two V6 Croma, right?. In both Cromas are the same engines? How many valves, these engines have?

edit: I found that Thema has 12 valves. How many valves has "Agnelli Croma"? Also 12 valves?

Hello Simmy, I'm glad your forum is still working!
All Agnelli's Croma V6 have Alfa 3,0 12V engines .
Soon, I'll open a topic, who will speak of the first Croma specially-built for Gianni Agnelli , the man who for many years was the absolute chief of Fiat.
Even this car (1985) had a V6 engine, however, not yet available Alfa Romeo 2.8 V6 was used a PRV engine (Peugeot / Renault / Volvo).
This engine, equipped some of the first V6 Lancia Thema, and was mated to a ZF three-speed automatic transmission.
But that's another story ......

The last step: I have mounted the " Lineaccessori FIAT Kit radica" , very rare in Italy, and a wood steering, taken from a Maserati Quattroporte ,1996 model .

I like it !

The steering wheel of the Maserati is wonderful. ;) It must be hard to find this wheel. Congratulations. 8-) But "wooden kit" is not my favorite. But is interesting. :)

It is true that wood is nice in a cream interior, but I think it looks artificial. :oops:

I really like the sunroof, and find a V6 in addition to black with this accessory in Italy is virtually impossible. I said to myself: what if I put one?
Said and Done! I did cut the roof complete with electric sunroof Croma ie , and I'm doing transplant from my body shop.
Do you like my job ???
